kelly dreamed of this shop for 10 years prior to opening up the brick and mortar space. the dream came about when she wanted to support small businesses for gift-giving and her personal shopping - but was finding that even the small businesses we're only supporting mass produced goods, and carrying all of the same. exact. brands. so she wanted to create a shop that carries only small businesses - mixing between local, statewide, and some global - to keep things fun, full of joy/color, and interesting

kelly worked for her mentor and friend for 7 years learning the ins and outs of running a small shop, and launched union online for a year: popping up all over LA and surrounding counties until it was a clear message that she needed a physical presence - so she landed in venice off of abbot kinney in 2024 (opening the shop in a record 15 days LOL)
